Imbecile Kalenjin Youths Arrested after Possing With Bows and Arrows and Threatening to Kill Those Opposing Ruto’s Presidency in Rift Valley

Police in Njoro, Nakuru, have arrested four Kalenjin Youths as the crackdown on hate speech and ethnic violence intensifies ahead of the August general election.

In a statement on Sunday, June 5, 2022, the National Police Service (NPS) said the arrests followed investigations after a photo of the suspects wielding crude weapons was shared on a popular social media platform on May 25, 2022.

Arrows recovered in Nakuru

Police picked up the suspects from Mauche Ward on Saturday, June 4.

The authorities confirmed that a cache of 25 arrows was recovered from the four.

“They proudly paraded their crude weapons, without regard to security concerns in their neighbourhoods,” NPS said.

The recovered weapons have been kept as exhibits as officers at the Njoro Sub-County Criminal Investigations Office process the suspects for arraignment in court tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the police service has urged members of the public to excise caution when using social media ahead of the August 9 polls.

“As we approach the General Elections, we urge the public to use social media platforms responsibly and to desist from acts that would trigger violence and other criminal activities in their neighbourhoods,” NPS added.

NPS added: “Being a key stakeholder in the elections Multi-Agency arrangement, the National Police Service has deployed adequate resources to ensure that peace and security prevail before, during and after the General Elections.”
