A popular MP close to Deputy President William Ruto has said that his boss is contemplating resigning as Deputy President over how he is being humiliated by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Over the last one month, Uhuru has rendered Ruto rudderless by the continued purge against Members of Parliament and Senators who seem to be supporting his presidential bid in 2022.
Uhuru, through his use of dictatorship, has managed to sack Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, Kipchumba Murkomen, as Majority Leader, Nakuru Senator, Susan Kihika, as Majority whip and Tharaka Nithi Senator, Prof Kithure Kindiki, as Deputy Senate Speaker.
Murkomen, Kindiki and Kihika were some of the most loyal lieutenants of the DP and their sacking is said to have infuriated him and he is now considering bolting out of Jubilee Party.
Sources close to the DP say that Ruto is considering meeting the President at State House where he will tender his resignation.
However, sources say that before he resigns, he wants Uhuru to explain to Jubilee Party supporters what he had done to him to betray him at this 11th hour when he almost has one foot in State House.
