Deputy President William Ruto has once again attacked Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Noordin Haji, accusing him of peddling lies about the construction of Kamwerer and Arror dams in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
On Saturday, Noordin Haji in a statement said his office is investigating loss of Sh 21 billion during the construction of two dams.
“The team has since embarked on the exercise (investigations) and a substantial number of persons have already been summoned by and have recorded statements with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, “Haji stated.
But speaking on Saturday in Mombasa, Ruto warned the investigative agencies against what he termed as political witch-hunt and targeting of individuals in the ongoing anti-graft war.
“We must leave out propaganda and falsehood in fight against corruption. Repeating a lie will not make it the truth,” Ruto said.
Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Henry Rotich who is a close ally of Ruto is said to be the mastermind of Sh 21 billion scandal.
